Manucor continuously relies on Brückner Servtec upgrade competences

Successful upgrading of Integrated Machine Control (IMC) and Direct Drives enhances line reliability and efficiency

Manucor S.p.A, based in Sessa Aurunca, Italy, has already been producing BOPP packaging film for many years. Following the takeover by the Bulgarian BOPP film manufacturer Plastchim-T this year, the Italians affiliate wanted to make another line fit for the future and take the next step towards Brückner’s latest production line technology.

Therefore, Manucor has recently invested in a modernization for their third plant, which produces Co-Ex film and base films for metallization.

Enhancing production efficiency and film quality

The installation started in August 2024 with the main objective of eliminating obsolete parts, ensuring the availability of spare parts and renewing the entire Integrated Machine Control (IMC) system to benefit from further easy and convenient operation. In addition to replacing drives, sensors, dosing components and the associated peripheral devices, new direct drives were also installed on the pull roll, improving film quality due to better accuracy and achieving lower energy costs due to reduced energy consumption.

Despite many mechanical, electrical, and control-related modifications, the upgrade was completed within four weeks without any major problems. The active commitment of the Brückner employees, who overhauled the film stretching system from 1993 and thus extended its life cycle, contributed significantly to this fast achievement.

Project manager Joachim Weese summarizes: “Since the successful restart, the film stretching line has been producing high-quality PP film more efficiently than ever before, enabling us to achieve the project goal. The commitment of all those involved during the 1.5-year project period was impressive”.

Trustworthy partnership enables mutual success

Manucor is more than satisfied with the success of the upgrade, asLuigi Scagliotti, CEO Manucor states: “Thanks, and congratulations to all the people, from both Brueckner and Manucor, involved in the project. This is fully in line with our brand new, Group motto: ‘We grow together’.”

And Luigi Antonio Martinese, COO Manucor, adds: “The revamping activity performed on line 3 has been completed on time, on spec, on budget. We had a very smooth restart up and the line went immediately into operation with good, improved BOPP quality reached. The project is another positive example of good cooperations between Bruckner and Manucor technical people. Thanks to all TEAM members!”.

We thank Manucor for their long-standing trust and loyalty towards us and look forward to working on another confirmed follow-up project together soon.
