Developed by Avient, the technology evaluates and reports the carbon footprint of its products, helping customers understand the impact of their own end products.
Specialized materials company Avient has released a new Product Carbon Footprint (PCF) calculator that evaluates the carbon footprint of its solutions to help provide an understanding of the environmental impact of end products.
By providing information on the PCF of Avient products, the tool can help customers understand the environmental impact of their own end products and provide a clearer picture of their carbon emissions. The calculator allows Avient to help address the challenges that some of its customers face when determining which products have a lower carbon footprint.
Key features of the PCF calculator include:
- Certification by TÃœV Rheinland, which provides a third-party review for quantifying and reporting the carbon footprint of products in alignment with the ISO 14067:2018 standard;
- establishment of a baseline carbon footprint for products;
- a better understanding for businesses of the carbon footprint of their products and alignment with sustainability and carbon-emission reduction goals.
Industries that are using Avient products include energy, transportation, construction, healthcare, and packaging.
