BPCL Launches MAK Rubber Spray Oil in Handy Packs to Support Small Growers

BPCL introduces rubber spray oil in convenient packs Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) launched its innovative MAK Rubber Spray Oil in user-friendly 26 kg packs at a special event held at the Rubber Research Institute of India (RRII), Kottayam.

The product was officially released by Sri. M. Vasanthagesan IRS, Executive Director, Rubber Board, in the presence of key officials, scientists, and stakeholders from the rubber industry.

During his address, Sri. Vasanthagesan emphasized the importance of prioritizing consumer interests in product development and commended BPCL’s initiative in offering spray oil in smaller, manageable packages. He noted that India leads globally in the effective control of rubber diseases, and integrating leaf disease spraying into Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) is crucial.

He also expressed optimism that continued collaboration between RRII and BPCL’s R&D division would bring further advancements in this area. Mr. Sohail Akhtar, marketing head at BPCL, who presided over the event, highlighted the product’s unique features. He described MAK Rubber Spray Oil as a biodegradable and sustainable solution developed by expert scientists to meet the evolving needs of rubber growers.

The availability of the product in small packs is expected to benefit small and marginal farmers, who often do not require large volumes for their limited land holdings. The event also featured speeches by Dr. M.D. Jessy (Director-in-Charge, RRII), Moncy P. Kurian (Managing Director, Manimalayar Rubbers), Dr. Shaji Philip (Principal Scientist, RRII), and Jenny C.L. (Territory Manager, Lubes, BPCL), who all lauded the efforts behind this farmer-friendly innovation.

A technical session followed the inaugural function, where experts including Sri. Sarvesh Tomar (R&D Head, Lubes Business Unit, BPCL), Dr. Shaji Philip, and Sri. N. Sali (Joint Rubber Production Commissioner) delivered insightful presentations on rubber disease control and the benefits of spray oils in agricultural practices.

The event saw participation from representatives of large estates, Rubber Producers’ Societies, and individual growers, reflecting the wide interest and relevance of the product in the rubber-growing community.
