Last September AMUT completed the start-up of the second of three plants for the SMI Group, a giant in the food and beverage industry in Latin America, in Colombia, with full customer satisfaction. SMI aims to grow in Colombia by offering a complete and sustainable solution to meet environmental commitments and customer needs.
In Bogota, AMUT, specialized in complete recycling plants and machinery, has been involved in the construction of a turnkey plastic recycling project with 3,000 kg/h net production from post-consumer PET bottles, developed entirely by AMUT. The plant includes an efficient front-end for pre-selection and pre-washing of the bottle flow, including the patented wet Delabeller system.
Last December SMI inaugurated the largest recycling plant in Peru, becoming one of the most important in America. AMUT, as part of the project, completed the construction of the first of three PET recycling systems that the company was awarded by focusing on the production of 100% recycled bottles.
The new 6,000 kg/h line delivered to Lima, the largest recycling plant in Peru, is a twin project of the 3,000 kg/h one in Colombia.
At the Guatemala City site, Guatemala, the development work is underway, under the supervision of our experts, of the third Line awarded to the SMI Group: another 3,000 kg/h integrated sorting and washing solution.
AMUT’s technical and technological expertise, based on patented high-performance machinery, guarantees high production capacity and quality of the flakes, making them suitable for Bottle-to-Bottle application.
The eco-friendly plant is water, energy and chemical efficient, as it reduces fresh water consumption to 1.1 liters per kg of high-purity RPET flakes, thanks to AMUT’s patented Friction Washer, Turbo Washer and newly developed Turbo dryer.
AMUT recycling technologies, producing R-PET, contribute to removing thousands of tons of post-consumer plastic from the environment for a more sustainable world.
